Quesnel is committed to promoting active transportation, and the Active Transportation Plan Update and Expansion is the latest step in achieving that goal. This plan will update strategies and network plans to improve options for connections between different modes of active transportation, incorporating new and future developments while recommending infrastructure, policies, and new connections to further encourage use of our active transportation network.

The updated plan will also include a project list, potential phasing opportunities, and cost estimates. This will help ensure that Council and community members understand the funding implications associated with the plan and make shovel-ready projects for grant funding applications. By investing in active transportation, Quesnel is not only promoting healthier lifestyles, but also creating a more sustainable and connected community.

Community members will have the opportunity to provide valuable input on the plan through a variety of channels, including surveys, questions, and an interactive map where they can drop pins and leave comments.     This interactive online map has been created to collect advice from the community to support the update to the City’s Active Transportation Plan. The map can be accessed by home computer or smartphone, or at City Hall for those without internet access.

    Within the map, users can easily drop pins at locations of interest, and provide three types of pins.

    Users can “like” or comment on other people’s comments.
