LeBourdais Park background information

As per the City of Quesnel Official Community Plan, which was developed after extensive public consultation, and the City’s Master Park Plan, the following objective applies to LeBourdais Park. These objectives are always kept in mind when making designs for future changes to the park.

Preserve open space at LeBourdais Park and consider hosting existing and future community events at the site, including Quesnel Billy Barker days and Canada day celebrations.

PREVIOUS UPDATES TO LEBOURDAIS PARK 

2016

Council approved South Quesnel and LeBourdais Park as top priority for improvements. In November, the City asked the public and students, through public meetings and surveys, to help plan the LeBourdais Park.

2017

LeBourdais Park playground was upgraded from a small playground with aging equipment, last refurbished in 1996, to a large playground with equipment for all ages.

2018

LeBourdais Park parking lot was completely redesigned. Dedicated parking spaces for vehicles and RV’s were added, and a new curb, gutter and asphalt. The flower bed and Billy Barker statue were moved to the park’s entrance.

2020

In 2020, City crew replaced a flag pole and installed an accessible picnic table.
